These Connecticut Pizzerias Among Nation's Top 100, New Rankings Say

Connecticut is not one of the nation's biggest states -- by either population (at No. 29) or in size (at No. 48 in square miles).

But when it comes to the best pizza, the Nutmeg State clearly punches above its weight.

Three Connecticut eateries are among the Top 100 pizza spots in the nation, according to new rankings by Yelp.

How did Yelp determine the rankings?

"We identified businesses in the pizza category on Yelp, then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and number of 5-star reviews each business had that were written by members of the Yelp Elite Squad," it said.

Here's the rundown of the Connecticut eateries that made the list :

57. Modern Apizza, New Haven
77. BAR, New Haven
85. Mystic Pizza, Mystic
